The python library created and maintained for Teslemetry is also used by multiple Home Assistant integrations that provide access to Tesla's Fleet API. This means you have a choice in which service works best for you.
Teslemetry was designed to be the best service for Home Assistant first and foremost. Our goal is to be cheaper than Tessie, but better than self-hosting or using the free option.

The Tessie integration for Home Assistant is ideal if you already had a Tessie subscription before the price rise. Tessie provides an excellent app and additional features on their website, in addition to a custom API and full Fleet API proxy which is used by the Home Assistant integration. The Tessie integration lacks Fleet Telemetry support, but has all the Fleet API functionality.

In mid 2024 Tesla introduced the ability for open source applications to authenticate to the Tesla Fleet API, so another integration was created to allow free and self-hosted access to the Tesla Fleet API from Home Assistant. However in 2025 Tesla effectively killed the open source applications by introducing its pay per use pricing model. This integration requires you to have your own Tesla application registration, domain name, and SSL certificate.
